I got a springfield XD in .45 acp. its a blast. I think its a way better deal than going with the glocks. this pistol comes w/ acc. right out of the box while the glocks were more $$$ but were bare and plain models.
this was the "tacktical" model so it should have the 5" barrel on it. only one gripe, this type of pistol needs a longer grip. it seems to small, the pinky finger feels like it has no place to go on the grip. maybe there is an extended mag. that has a piece of grip on it to get me the extention. I think ive seen those around.
now looking at the balistics more carefully i think the .40 s&w will push a 200 grain bullet a bit faster. in the hornaday re-loading book it showed the .40 s&w a lot more north of 1,000 FPS. but looking around for .40 s&w ammo and itsprimarely non existant. so maybethe .45 was the right pick.

id still like to get a big cal. revolver for hunting use. there is a lot of brush in some of the hunting spots so range there will be limited, perfect spot for a pistol hunt.
is a .357 really plenty on deer?? I was thinking the 44 mag or.480rugerwould be the good cartriges.
