In addition to the continuation of practice, I carry a practice BH tipped arrow in my quiver and use it to shoot at a leaf or something on the ground after a morning hunt. Can't simulate hunting conditions much better than that.
I used to do the same thing until I started splitting arrows at the insert because of hitting something hard in the ground, I stopped doing that![8D] Luckily I can shoot off my balcony every day!
