Everybody owns one...young hunters start with them...they are the true "tack driver".


I have a mossberg 146b (older) 22 and I want to know what the limitations of a gun like this are? What kind of groups are "possible" with this gun at what range? I know that this gun is not meant to hunt deer with but, I just want to get out and shoot. (I love it).

I'm looking at putting a Bushnell 3200 scope on this gun (mossberg 146b)...reasonable or am I asking to much out of this gun?

I know there is a such thing as overkill but from what I see at the board is that you can pretty well maximize your gun to a 1-3" group shooter with the type of scope you put on the beast. Am I right or wrong.


I vote for an all out thread on the pros and cons of the .22 LR...lets get busy.
