sounds like you hurt him bad...and with there not being that much blood...you could have hit the liver, or sometimes deer just simply don't bleed that much....I shot a big nine a couple of years ago, and made a double lung pass through and didn't find a drop of blood until I found him...that buck ran about 10 yards after the shot, and started walking...sounds very similar to your situation...most important thing....make sure you can see and take your time which is very hard to do
