Default Opening Day success turned bad!

Wisconsin's Bow season opened on Saturday and I didn't make it out in the morning, I wanted to go to my kids football game and went out for the late hunt! I got in my tree around 4:30pm and settled in for the evening. I did a little Turkey calling to pass the time since I do have a tag for that same unit After about 30 minutes I look and out of the corn here comes a flock of birds, 32 total all hens and young ones. They were interested in the calling and came into about 45 yards of my stand, if I would of had decoys out I believe they would of come all they way in to bow range. They walked off out of site! Well after that excitement out of the thick stuff here is a Doe in the field at 40 yards, feeding away. I watch her for about 20 minutes and she if feeding closer and closer to 27 yards, I get to full draw and put my pin on her and release my arrow, thwap, right in the boiler room! She does the mule kick and bounds off into the tall grass and I hear her kinda go down, but not sure so I wait it out in my stand. I have 3 more deer come into bow range but opted not to shoot because of not knowing if my other deer is dead! Well I get down at dark and find my arrow COVERED in blood! I take my stand down and walk back to the truck, drop off my stand, get my other pack and go look for her! We find a good blood trail, she went up hill which was unusual, but not far! There she is at 50 yards from where I shot her! But wait, is this my deer, its mangled, leg chewed off, neck gone, one side is completely skin off, guts are gone just a mess. This is my deer she got eaten by Coyotes with in 2 hours of me shooting her. Needless to say I was BUMMED! My first opening day deer and the ****ing Coyotes eat her! When we walk out of the tall grass we see 2 sets of eyes glowing from the flashlight, 2 coyotes run off[:@]
Sorry for the long story but I needed to vent a bit, I'm still sick about it. I feel I did the right thing in waiting but at the same time kinda bummed I waited???
