I appreciate the advice. Haven't decided what to do. I did a Web Search of Shim and Scopes and found some information concerning shims. I didn't know that you had to shim the base rather than the rings. Cans and old brass pounded into shape are the materials recommended. The general advice on the Website was stay away from cheaper scopes. I'm hurtin' if my X-hairs fall out as the fellow that owned the ML removed the iron sights. As my wife would say,

This is great as I have some spare time as I lost my job as Camera Man for the N.E. Patriots. And....I don't see the Sox getting by the Yanks n the AL Playoffs.[]
