I would assume using a brass brush attachment for your cleaning rod would do the trick. However, I have only shot between 200 and 300 roundsthrough my .22 and I show no signs of lead buildup.

I only use RemOil when I clean mine. But, as stated, there is no signs of lead buildup either.
