I agree and disagree that theres not much difference b/t the 06' and .308.

I agree that theres not much if any difference in the preformance of the ammo.

However, I disagree that if you have an 06' that you would be "wasting your money" on a .308.

A .308 is lighter. Shorter barrel. Shorter action. For these reason They are (IMO) A lot better stand gun than a 06'.
