RE: Extreme Vft
I bought the '03 CyberTec by Hoyt. It's got a 28" draw length with a 70 lb draw weight. I have an HHA Optimizer Lite sight, Quicktune 3000 rest, and Bohning detach quiver. I have a peep, string loop, and leeches on the string. Through the chrono, shooting a 380 grain arrow I'm getting 275-280 fps.
This bow wasn't even two weeks old when a guy I work with told me had shot some of the Bowtech bows at a local shop. He was very impressed, to say the least.
Well, now I had to go and check them out. Guess what I ended up doing?!
Yep, bought myself an '03 EX VFT. The set up is similar to my Hoyt, except that I've got a Golden Key Futura rest, Kwikee detach quiver, and the draw length is 29" (don't feel the 1" difference). Shooting the same arrow, the Bowtech is shooting 290-295 fps!
Both bows are virtually shock free, their fast and quiet. The VFT is lighter in weight than my Hoyt and the draw force isn't quite as smooth (guess they've got to get the extra speed from somewhere).
The Hoyt has 75% let off, while the VFT has 65%. You'd never know the difference.
Anyway, I'd never seen a Bowtech bow in person until I went to this shop. Glad I did! Believe it or not, the Bowtech was $200 bucks less than what I paid for the Hoyt!
