depends on much more than poundage, such as type of head and how sharp it is, how TUNED your bow is, and as mentioned, what you hit. If you hit a deer broadside with a 2 blade cut on contact and catch no ribs I bet you could pass though with 20 ftlb of KE...but not recomending it
Best answer so far......They say 22-25 # of KE is sufficient to do the job. The rig described above is the way to go for low poundage bows
