lots of people shoot the 240 XTPs with 80 grains of powder. My Wolverine is one rifle that shoots them with 80 grains real well. My Staghorn shoots them with 90 grains. So 100 grains is nothing set in stone. That is the one disadvantage of pellets. Good thing you have the two sizes. You might have never learned that little fact about your rifle.
Yeah you're right, when I bought the pellets I told my self that I should have a little flexibility so that I can taylor the load as closely as I could.
But as soon as the season is over I'm going to play with some Goex FFG & maybe some 300gr. - 450gr. slugs to see which load/bullet combo this Traditions really likes "who knows it may just like the loading that I'm using now."
