RE: Deer Hunting With Your Nose
EHD (Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease) is from a biting fly or Midge that occurs in the summer through early fall and comes to a quick hault after the first frost. In SouthWestern PA we had a couple of outbreaks from very south to about 65 miles north. Some of the numbers I heard about dead carcusses ranged from 55 to 100 per infected county. I have heard that the symptoms are similiar to CWD? And that the deer typically expire near water sources because of thirst. I think is is natures way of herd management.
