RE: Short Action Mags
I think the short mags are here to stay, the short action guys have been waiting for these calibers a long time and are buying them. Its been years since I've seen new releases take off so hard and so many manufactures start production on new calibers so fast.I believe as stated elsewhere the 300WSM and 270WSM will be around a long time, the 7mmSAUM will also make it I believe.I don't expect owners of the long versions of these calibers to drop them for the shortys but the guys you have been waiting(me included)for them will buy and use them. They are still not staying on shelves too long up here and die sales attest to their popularity. The first company to make the 33 caliber short mag will probably take that share of the market also.I have doubts about the Super short mags cause they involve retooling to make a new action length and that will restrict new offerings in that area for some time.IMHO they are here to stay and the grumblings you hear from some about them being a flash in the pan were heard when the 270 and 243 were first offered, the rest is history.
