I'm with Robert (again) on this one. I, too, think they are here to stay.

I'd also like to see something bigger, but I think the 8mm makes great sense. Doesn't have to be compared to the .338 Win Mag or .338-06, and a 200gr/.323-cal premium bullet loaded in that short, fat case should be quite all a hunter needs for just about anything here in North America. You would be able to handload 220gr bullets, if you wish, and smaller bullets in the 170-190gr range should make quite a long-distance dialer out of the cartridge. And recoil should be more than manageable for most shoooters.

Geez, and don't you like the sound of &quot;.323 Winnie,&quot; or &quot;.327 SAUMie?&quot; Remington might even give Winchester a run for their .338 Win Mag money if they loaded such a round. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
