What you state could very well be true, but I wouldn't completely believe this just because someone mentioned it in a newspaper article. I think if it is true, they will lose most paying subscribers and then won't be able to sell the magazine at all, other than those who get it as part of the special hunting/fishing package they purchased. I don't see many subscribing to this magazine other than NYS hunters/fisherman. Hikers, birdwatchers, etc. don't need to buy a sporting license and few even know about this magazine. Where there are NO subscribers, there will shortly be NO magazine.
