Hotburn sorry it took so long I am having problems being able to post!! I don't know much about editing maybe Todd can help with that. I know the mini dv tapes are what everyone is useing unless you go to HD, If you have the mini tapes you can burn them easy to DVD or just play them on your tv from your camera. As far as editing you have to ask Todd or Kyle!! Walt
