~ What factors contribute to big tusks on boars ?

Hello all,

I have noticed lookinh through other hunters pics of hog kills, that SIZE of the boar does not seem to mean that they will have decent cutters.

I seen big hogs withsmall cutters, and seen much smaller boars with big cutters. Some largish 200+ boars with almost no cutters.

Are genetic strains across various hog lines contributing here ? Would certain genetics play a roll in larger teeth on certain boars even in youth as they age ?

Could it be the breeding out of the European boar genes among the ferals that at play here ?
I go for taste young suckling pigs... I can't eat the tusk.
You'll have to wait to see what Rebel Hog says, He's the pig expert.
