I think rubber boots are a pain. I wear them but would rather wear a good leather boot anyday. They do keep you dry from exterior wetness and scent free, but the sweat inside makes them the pain. The goods ones do fit and wear well. You can go anywhere in them and not experience fatigue. They just don't breath.
you are right, to a point!

now, here comes deer season , cold,i use LACROOSE ALPHA BURLY 1500 GRAMS in 1 size larger for heavy pair of socks,if you sit all day...

so, if you listen to me ,buy those 3 ,use them as i said, you will be a very happy hunter, for sure..
Got the same rubbers, some water proof (almost) Wolverine boots and my favorite, but I can only wear them in nice weather, Minitonka knee high moc's. There are comfy but they won't keep you warm or dry. Nobetter way to stealth around. Shifted gears a few years ago and have been experimenting with socks. Best sock with the rubbers has been some made out of Alpaca wool. Bought some different ones this year. The smart wool worked well too.Got a hand made set last year I'm looking forward to trying. Some woman makes them. She'll make up a set of 3 to use in place of a pack.

Thinking on some new boots soon. Taking my time. Gibblet last year went on about the Muck boots. Might try them. I think like you and get a size larger. That makes me a 14. Been amazed at how many places don't offer boots at that size.
