Sheez, we were almost slipped down to the 3rd page, can't have that
I wanted to tell you guys back east about what you're missing out here west. I took a friend out yesterday to burn some powder, over a prairie dog town. Between us, we only shot 175 rds. Probably killed about 140-150 more prairie dogs, and as we were leaving, hardly looks like they'd been shot at all summer. I love this Savage VLP .204 that I am using.
Also kinda kept an eye out for a particular pronghorn that I hoping to kill in about 4 weeks. We got him nick named "slanter" because one of his horns is slanted foreward at about 45 degrees. Saw him two years ago, and the year before that, BUT didn't see him last year. Hardly any hunting pressure, so if he died, might have been during the nasty snow and cold winter we had last winter.
We also saw 6 coyotes. Three on the way to the ranch and 3 while we were there. Looks like calling will be good again this winter. I got my rifle cleaned this a.m. and am now reloading, gotta be ready in case someone else wants to go do some shooting.
