I'll give the less powder a try but the last time i tried that all i got was a flash in the pan. While i was cleaning, i noticed my flint was a little cocked in the jaws and only one small section of flint was hitting the frizzen so that was more than likely causing poor sparking. I got that fixed and its throwing sparks into the pan so that should speed it up.
