I love hunting and being in the woods with family regardless of the season or weapon. I favor my bow over my gun, I haven't taken a deer with it yet and thats part of the reason I like it better right now. It's a new challenge for me. I still hunt with my gun and that to me is just as exciting, partly because of how we (my father and I) hunt. We hunt from the ground in brush blinds we make when we get to where we think is a good spot to sit, otherwise we slow stalk. With all of that being said, the farthest I've had to shoot at a deer with my gun is less than 35 yds. My father has taken deer much farther and so have others I've hunted with. I can and do get just as close to deer while gun hunting as I do with my bow when in stand. It's a blast for me regarless!
