cayugad, no one can ever say you waiste a lot of paper at the range. If I put that many different loads on the same target; I would be more confused than when I started.
Besides, I am color blind which ones are the 300g xtps?
The 300 grain XTP have notations such as 1X, 2X, 3X, etc. They are in the upper area of the X along with the powerbelts.

Amazing variation in performance with those loads. Have you shot that barrel with the 300 XTP's at 100yds? Were they easy to load? I'm still struggling with the "easy to load = poor performance" thing. I'm really not finding that in my barrel.
The color coding is easy. At the range in my note book I keep a detailed sketch of the target I am shooting at, the loads using, etc. I make note of every hit, and photograph when ever I change projectiles. So I have a walking memory of the shots. The through the aid of Print Shop Pro I can set the spray can to a very small pattern and changing colors shoot the center of each hole. That way I can alway keep track of what I did and with what.
I have shot the 300 grain XTP at 100 yards with the RED DOT. It shot about a 4" group. Although the next time I tried, semisane's rules kicked in and you'd of thought I just got the rifle that day. But the Staghorn, while only costing $89.00 is a very good shooting rifle. And with the crushed rib sabots, they are very easy to load.

Hey cayugad,I really like the group with the XTP's and crush ribs. Did you use crush ribs for any particular reason, like loading difficulty with other sabots, orbetter accuracy, or did you just have them handy.
I too think the Harvester Crushed Rib sabots are the best thing out there. I shoot them 90% of the time unless the bullets came with their own sabots. They are easy to load, and I can put a good powder charge under them. I never have to shoot extreme distances like some of you guys, so I do not really worry about what they are going to do at 125-150 yards. I am more concerned at 50-75 yards, and how easy they load..
Falcon.. I made not of the gel formula and can get it at Brownells... I think I might just order some with the next order from them. I want to get a cheek eaze pad as well, so that would make a nice small order. I could then see how well I can do that stuff. I actually have a couple of rifles I want to bed.
