For a pump gun, I like the Winchester 1300 best. I had an 870 and while OK, it didn't overly impress me compared to the 1300. One pump gun that I would pass on is the Beneli Nova. I handled one the other day at a sporting goods store and wasn't impressed at all. That forearm rattled almost as bad as the Mossbergs, and it didn't feel that great in my hands either. To be very honest with you, it felt very cheaply made to me. The 1300 with it's recoil assisted pump action, is almost as fast as an semi-auto.
