Hey Gleason Chapman, I was just wondering about those PB thats the powerbelts made by CVA right?? Those shot good outta of your Knight Disk Extreme huh?? I hear a lotta people saying those bullets fragment when they hit something.Do you think they are a good hunting bullet???
Greeting Okie48,

Yes the PB made by CVA. Yes they shot good out of my Knight regular Disc. I am one of the people that say the PB bullet fragment on bone hits, since I have experienced hitting a big buck in the shoulder with a PB a few years ago (at the time I did NOT know what I know now about PB, bullet expansion, penetration, fragmentation, etc), here is the genesis of my questions on this:

As for doI think they are a good hunting bullet, in my opinion they are good for "broadside shots, archery shots at slow ML speeds". We have debated PB on this ML forum and I would prefer not to debate it again, it always leads to heated debate between the PB lovers and the PB haters, and frequently there are misunderstandingand hurt feelings. If you want my view on PB and a taste of the debate, it is here:

I would say I am in the PBdisliker camp, not the hater camp. I prefer a strong bullet that holds together, penetrates well, expands to 2x it diameter and kills quickly, leaving an excellent blood trail. The Nosler Partition does that for me. However that said, I plan on using either a Parker Ballistic Extreme or a TC Shockwave for hunting with new Savage 10ML this fall, primarily because the Nosler doesn't have a 200 yard bullet. In my smokepole inlines I will shoot the Nosler. Each gun is different and you must choose the bullet, powder, sabot and primer that makes your gun accurate and deadly. I use to be in the camp of "any bullet", any powder, any primer and any sabot will do" and basically chose the cheapest of each component. I now know better, I didn't before, I am sorry to say.

I see your a racked buck, so I am sure you know most or all of these things, so if I am preaching to the chior, please forgive me. Best wishes. Chap Gleason
