Default RE: new bow recommendations

As jd said, you can't go wrong with any of today's upper end bows. Be prepared for a serious case of sticker shock however as most of the better bows are going to start out about 400.00 to 800.00. I would reccomend you go with generous brace height (at least 7.5") as bows have changed so much that a bow like that will still be at least 1/3 faster than your older bow. Carbon arrows are the only way to go as they too have been drastically improved as well. Speed won't be your concern-you need to look for quietness and shootability. Just for the sake of argument-my favorite brand is mathews. I am stating thisknowing some others will bash mathews so after this I'll sit back and watch the posts as usual. The bottom line is you can kill game animals with anything as long as you have the skill. You need to go to local pro shop and handle/shooot all the different bows you can and select the one that YOU like best.
good luck and good hunting Neil Stalkingbear
