Default RE: season ends before it begings

wow man...that sounds terrible. hope you recover fully and quickly.

thats one thing i fear is getting laid up for a whole season. time is already limited with most of us working, school, life period. but we love what we do. i know alot of us spend ALOT of money in hunting gear YEARLY. i know most of us practice our hearts out...scout our tails off etc..but i guess in the end, stuff happens...

i know i did get mono(yes the kissing disease!...YES from a girl!) 3 years ago right before rifle season. didnt bow hunt at the time so it was about my only shot at a buck..only a 2 week season. opening day was one of the days i could hunt and not miss school. i was better...but nowhere near 100% yet. asked the doc if rifle recoil would be bad for my spleen. he said nope shouldnt be(i still wonder if he realizes what kind of recoil a rifle puts out...) i did cancle my deer camp plans...didnt want to hinder dads hunting..we do ALOT of walking in the mountains and didnt want to ruin his day too. the Sunday before i drove to my buddies field to make sure my rifle was shootin true..took a nap right there in the field before driving home lol. Monday morning was the opener..i made it to my spot OK..had alot of people know where id be and check on me...11am i joined my group to drive..sat as close to the truck as possible..made it through the day...mono didnt stop me!

we all know Rob wont get held down by his ankle..heck he posts pics of him shooting on it all the time

but if something happens and we cant hunt...we cant hunt...saftey comes first...i rather be laid up for a season than the rest of my life because i was stupid about my first injury and made it worse..
