No need to apologize to me about Kansas having bigger deer---just invite me to join you after you tie one to a tree for me!

I went for a walk yesterday, and found a really good place to hunt with my son on his first bow hunt. It is where I hunted last year on opening day--same general area--but I walked in there to show my son, even though I had said I was going to stay out---I wanted to give him an overview of the area and pick a tree with him to psych him up---and I found a scrape with fresh chew marks on the licking branch. Depending on wind direction, I picked out a couple o ftrees, and I will spend the eveninhg hunt with him, to see him take his first deer, hopefully. I know there is at least one buck in there that is decent and I saw 2 1 1/2 year olds opening day last year, either of which would make for a good first buck for him.
