I just took my Labrador to the vet yesterday because of missing fur and raw skin on his head and front leg they said it is hot spots and shaved the areas and gave us medicine , they put a cone around his head which is quite annoying since he is bumping into everything with it and cannot go up and down the staircase because he lowers his head when he climbs and the cone hits the steps. Does anybody else experience problems with hot spots and have any advice on keeping them from coming back.


Just to vent a little I never experienced this problem with my other dogs so I took him to the vet I cant believe that a ten minute visit cost $230 I remember when I had a wisdom tooth extracted it took about an hour or at least felt like it and that cost almost the same
