Agreed. 2" is great shooting. 3" is good shooting and acceptable for most deer hunting. For 200 yard shots then smaller groups at 100 yards are needed for the longer shots to be < 4" at 200 yards.
Gleason.chapman - One of the qualities of Outdoorsman's 100 yd target may have been overlooked (not by you, necessarily). While some critique his 2.5" group, I take note his group is on target, all shots falling within 3" of POI. The bottom line is, after all, to hit that at which we aim. His group, taken to 200, could well be under 6" AND on target. That would be a high confidence deer pattern in my book. I think we spend too much time here on group size, a measure of gun and shooter capability, and not enough on group size/POA/POI, the combination of which measure readiness to effectively kill.

By the by, what powder charge, sabot, gun did you use on the Nosler test in the other post?
