Vanilla Dripper
I laid out some corn in our new deer area Monday night. I also dribbled some vanilla on it to make it very attractive. (according to posts that I have read here) I then soaked a scent pad with the vanilla and hung it on a nearby branch (near the bait not the stand). My question is have any of you ever made a vanilla drip? I was thinking of taking the bottle of vanilla and poking a hole in the top. Then stuff it with some kind of a wick and tie the bottle upside down to a tree. This way the vanilla would slowly drip out and down the tree bark. This way there is a constant vanilla calling smell in the air. We used to do something similar to this when we could bait for bear. We were always up a huge cedar tree and they have the perfect branches for dripping scent down. This way any breeze would whif the smell away to any bear in the area. We also took a 5 gallon bucket of molasses, poked a small hole in the bottom, and hung it against a tree. Anyway....has anyone ever tried this vanilla dripper before?
Just and idea ...
