Default RE: Model 1873 Winnie

"2002 Standard Catalog of Firearms" places seriel # 352xxx at the year 1889. 363220 started the year 1890. The .38-40 was first offered in 1879. In 1884 they started using steel receivers on the model 1873. Winchester stopped production in 1919. Model 1873s with a colored receiver bring a premium price. Prices are listed for Rifle, Carbine, and Musket. Rifle: excellent 9500, very good 5000, good 2000, fair 800, poor 400. Carbine: excellent 12000, vg 6500, g 3500, f 1200, p 800. Musket: e 3500 vg 1500 g 1000 f 750 p 300. I don't know what the "B" stands for in the seriel #. Barnes and Nobles carries the book. The book costs $34. Great buy for that much info. Sounds like you have a great heirloom. Just ask if you need help determining the condition and I'll post their criteria.
