RE: Best way to field hunt??
Early Season - I hunt mostly wheat/oat fields. The key is scouting and hunting fields that they want to be in! You dont need a ton of decoys, I have killed a lot of birds over 6 dekes this time of year. Use layout blinds or burlap and brush in well! If you have a good shaded pasture or waterhole that they use after the morning feed that is a great spot to be also, set up well camoed after they leave/before they arrive and set a few dekes and wait them out!
Regular/Late season - corn fields in areas that they are working, or fields they are hitting, this is when more dekes are great, use layout blinds for this too.
Water hunting works good too if you have a ggood spot where they go regularly, i have usually mixed duck hunting with this also.
