RE: Best way to field hunt??
We hunt over picked corn and soybean fields. The best picked cornfield is where a combine has picked it, not a silage chopper, which takes everything. A combine leaves a lot of spilled and unpicked corn, which is a draw for the birds.
A soybean field has some appeal, however, corn fields work best.
We use laydown blinds exclusively, and set up with decoys all around us and with an opening in front, and with the wind to our backs. Of course, knowing where the geese will fly always helps.
