I have never hunted at Ft Rucker, but I have been deer hunting in Ala. since 1996. I wouldn't know about the deer pop. there at the ft, but the over all population is A Lot! I would try getting a lease, it don't have to be 1000 acres, it could be just 50. Plants food plots, and hunt. I lease in Wilcox county, but used to lease in Crenshaw and Covington counties. Always saw a lot of deer. Be aware that it is warm in Bow season, so the deer do not feed as much nor do they have the need to. I try to find the acorns, find them and usually you'll find deer. Otherwise I hunt food plot edges. Try going to
www.afoa.com and click on hunting lease land, they post lease land available. good luck!
