I have one and have had some luck bringing does back that were a little skittish and headed away from me. Mine fell out of a tree and did fall apart. I put it back together and it works, but falls apart often. I picked up another one because I think it sounds great and works.
Just how are they ( the call ) falling apart , I've had mine for years and never had a problem.
The whole reed assembly (wood, plastic reed, and rubber band) tends to fall out. I put it back in, but I can't get it back in tight enough without potentiallyseparating the corregated rubber tube from the rest of the call. This happened after falling out of a tree. Before that I never had a problem. The call still sounds fine, but I'd hate to find out that the wooden plug came loose just when I need it most. I'm going to keep that one as a spare and use my new one this season.
