If that pistol hit normandy, the guy carrying it must have either been high ranking, a coward, or just took VERY good care of it. That thing is immaculate.... very nice specimen.

What is neat about this kind of thing is getting around somebody who knows a whole lot about these things and just listening to about how they were made, where they made them, what all the proof marks and intials stand for. Some of the folks I have met at gun shows could look at a gun like that, or heck in some cases even just an assorted part and tell you when it was made, who made it, where they made it, what the balance in their bank account was and if their wife was blonde, brunette or redhead.
