"ShockWaves do NOT expandwell even at long distances,....
This isnotmy experience at all.You keep saying this stuff. How much experience do you have on game with this bullet?

i have killed several deer and about a dozen hogs with the SST. All of them expanded. Including this one that took a pig at 175 yards. It weighs 167 grains.
This is what is said over on Cabela's product web site:

T/C Shockwave Review, January 4, 2007

"These bullets group at sub 1" groups at 100 yards in my .50 MDM Buckwacka using 110gr FFg 777 powder. Great if your shooting paper, but poor real-world performance for me.
This years (2006) hunting results:
Shot a doe broadside at 20-25 yards (I was standing on the ground, so It was a straight shot) in the left side and she ran 40 yards on her face. Why her face? Because my shot broke both front legs and punched a hole thru her lungs. The bullet didn't expand and it disinegrated upon hitting the right leg. The bullet punched a perfect pencil sized hole straight thru everything. With a light rain and close to quiting time, thank goodness her legs got broke as I know this deer would have disappeared into the thick of everything and lost.
Shot a 4 point buck at 30 yards out of a stand. Watched the deer run across a 230 yard field down ito a ravine where I found it. Hit was high right shoulder and out the front chest. Again, just a pencil size hole thru and thru."

"The sabots group very well on paper. I have not had good luck deer hunting with them. I shot a small doe and she never acted like she was even hit. I recovered her 75yrds down the trail. The bullet did not appear to have expanded on the exit wound."
Shock waves, November 24, 2006

"I was very pleased with the accuracy of the shock wave with 100 grains of powder behind them. I however have shot two (possibly three) deer with them. I could not find any blood on the two I found. The last one i shot ran four hundred yards with a direct vital shot on her. Still not completely satified."

"i shot four white tails 2006 season. i found my 8 & 6 pointers. i shot them at about 60 yards. the 8 pointer threw the front shoulders ran about 60 yards with no hair or blood. 6 pointer threw the lungs no hair or blood for about 70 yrds. on opening evening in the rain i hit a 8 pointer on a go away shot. i hit him on the white and brown stomach line left side came out between front legs. this deer ran at least 40 yards. with no blood and maybe 25 strands of white hair. myself and my son and neighbor searched for almost 6 hours in the light rain in a corn and hay field. four hoof prints of blood thats all. i found this 8 pointer five days later in the hay field. my second deer i lost i shot him about 30 yards in my hay field standing still side shot. i watched him run threw a 20 acre bean field. and not a drop of blood. not till he reached the 10 acre hard woods three shots of blood thats all. i tracked him to a river bottom and lost him threw the water. very little gray hair where i shot him on my two track. thompson center shockwave have no thump or shock not happy. i shoot my knight inline off and on all year long. not happy with tc shockwaves. 100 grain triple sevin pellets. not the only person with this reaction to tc shockwave when shooting a deer.( my brother 2006 season )"
please make up your own mind. Now read what is said about Barnes Expanders:

If you follow the words about what people say about SW, you will find this theme over and over.
You won't find any negative info on hit game and no blood trails with Expanders.
That is my point that I was trying to make. YOUR hunting experience is different.
Sorry I push your SW button. These thread on bullet performance always leads to wars.
