Default RE: 07 Upland Bird Contest

Can we really do this?
Has upland bird hunting become like the big game hunters?
Is'nt the hunt really about the birddogs, the conservation of the habitat along withthe birds, and the memories we make with our friends out in the field?

Don't get me wrong; i have been on many high-volume shoots in Mexico, Argentina, Uragway, Costa-Rica, and Honduras. They are alot of fun and i will always remember some of them as the best days shooting ever.

However, what i hold as the fondest of memories is the day i shot the first bird for bird dogs i own and ones i have trained. Theillusive covey that i could only manage to point once a year but, knew they were around all the time.
The day that my bird dog (Skeet) pointed a wild covey in the edge of the woods.I shot one that flushed over my head towords the open field, As she went to pick it up she pointed another wild covey that had movedout to feed on soybeans.
