Who decides what is a food plot as opposed to an ag crop or family garden? Don't you just love fresh collard and turnip greens right after a frost sweetens them? An acre of them would easily supply you for the whole winter and would only take a small plot at the edge of a field, right next to a nice woodlot perhaps... Do you or a buddy have a horse? I'll bet that horse would love an occasional snack of ladino clover to break the monotony of feed, it makes a good nurse crop for other plants too... Ever try sugar beets instead of those yucky ol' red ones? Yum, yum... Ever try roasting your own soybeans? Man they're good... Use your imagination son...
