RE: Greg,got my round tuit
Todd, you nailed it that I'm going to be working on changing some things up VERY slightly after this season (Especially after my elk trip, but probably after this year; I'm just in such a groove right now, and can pretty consistently stay in a softball at 50. In fact, I'm pretty much spot-on with that 1" groupsfor 10 yards, 2" groups for 20, 3" for 30 and so on that has been mentioned before.)
As I make the jump from pure bowhunter to competitive 3d next season, I'm doing all I can to avail myself of some resources to take it to the next level. One thing I've discovered is that I actually anchor a bit higher on my jaw bonewith a caliper release than most probably do; I think this is attributable to two things: One, I am EXTREMELY self-taught in this sport, and -- two, I snapped my right elbow out of socket when in college playing a stupid pickup basketball game after midnight on an asphalt court while it was drizzling rain... (I was leading a three-on-one fast break with two trailers to either side with one defender. He sets up in the middle of the lane to take a charge... I look left, dish right as I come to a halt... except the feet went right out from under me on the wet asphalt and I was suddenly horizontal about five feet above the ground. I reach back with my right hand to catch my fall out of instinct... Bad idea.)
I lost a bit of my range of motion, so I think it feels better to anchor higher than on my jawline because I don't have to put as drastic a bend to get my forefinger under my jawline. I think it's going to be fine though with my Carter Just Cuz release...
I've played with different string loop lengths on my new Constitution I'll be using for 3d already... First thing I noticed using the Carter Just Cuz on it was that I can't use the extremely short loops I've been using with my Scott Wildcat... I could feel the torque immediately at that length, so I understand perfectly what you're saying there.
