you are correct about the price being high. it does give me readings on small objects. i got a reading off of a big rock at 451 yds. i also got a reading on a car at 710 yards. the reading is very quick and lights up red on the screen. the unit is about the size of a normal paperback book and just as light. you can get them cheaper on ebay.
