Couldn't afford the Nicon. Tried the yardage pro and it couldn't range my bird dog past 125 yards. I guess for bow hunting that would be fine. I hunt both rifle and bow. While rifle hunting I couldn't care less as long as the target is 200 or less. I sight in for 200 and shot straight away out to 250. I can't judge out any farther than that anymore. I use the Bushnell 1000. Love it. Get the best you can afford.
