A thought just occured to me. I remember a time when I had a headlamp go bad. Now I always have a spare in camp.

If you get a bull down in the evening and you are miles from camp a quality headlamp in invaluable for the climb down especially if you are carrying a load.

In days gone by, I can recall being laughed at for wearing a light on my head. Now almost every one I see has one.
