I certainly hope you meant this in jest. One of my sergeants once called my .270 "a varmint rifle". So the day after I'd killed two 300+ pound blackies with it, (2 shots with the 150 grain Nosler Partition, one at 30 yards, the other at 200+) he said
"well, them bears ain't nuthin' but varmints"......
Use the 150-grain Nosler partition. Load them with an accurate load that gives you+-2800 FPS MV. The bears will die. if you get the bullet into their chest cavity, that is.
