SwampCollie, poly is short for polycarbonate. Im not sure I've seen an acrylic call for under $50 but im sure they're out there, maybe on ebay. For a basic quack i like to say the word "gwit", emphasizing the "g" sound. It makes the quack sound deeper, more gutteral. Saw it on some hunting show and I like how it sounds.
