Nothing matters except what SHE likes. Yes the equalizer is the fastest, and sure the Mathews is great if the guy in her life shoots a Mathews.
My girl has taken up archery over the summer... and shes dang good too. I got her a Parker Challenger in target blue on ebay for $75 and last weekend she shot a 272 in the 3D tourny.... from the Men's Bowhunter Class stakes! Not to mention that she had a zero on one target... if she would have nailed a 10 on that one target, she would have beaten me, the guy I shoot for, and another fellow who I work with who has been shooting for years.
I took her to a bunch of different shops, and we shot a bunch of different bows. Her pick was the Hoyt Trykon Sport. $350 in 40-50#. Plenty enough for deer. We couldn't find a BowTech dealer that had an Equalizer, in fact, the one nearest us flatly told us they would not even order one for us (no sense ever going there for anything). So that was the one we didn't get to shoot. But, she liked the weight, draw cycle and shot of the Trykon Sport best. So thats all that mattered.
The shop didn't have a Selena, but as the rep told me (and I agree), the Selena is just marketed for women. Price is much higher, and even according to Hoyt, the Trykon is a better performer. More parrellel limbs, faster, and probably no more quiet or shock free. Why spend more for less or the same?
I bought the bow for her last week.... but she doesn't know it yet....
