My brother -in law use have his Trapping license ( don't know if he still does). But at the time he was able to get in by an older trapper calling it quits, thus maintaining the same amount of trappers!
Once you have taken the coarse and pass, you will be assigned a trap line which could be far from your area to maintain. As long as you keep renewing your trappers license, your area is secured
