RE: shoot thru scope rings
this is my take on the whole see thru ring thing.some people are just more adaptable with set ups and arent as picky. they just make things work. there are those who just like the idea of being prepared. they probably have 2 spare tires in there vehicle. they dont wanna deal with the chances of a scope going bad or a gun being dropped.so be it. then there are the true working reasons for having see throughs. i stumbled upon this myself. in certain hunting conditions like tracking deer deer in maine in the snow. the potential for a deer to get up quickly makes having open sites nice to have. a deer kicked up on an open ridge 140 yards away makews the scope nice to have.my remington 7600 has a built in cheek piece that is ramped . if i want to use a scope i just slide foward and it puts me in the scope. a little back brings the eye down and now my iron sites work. its what you like. i have them on my 7600 and my model 94. they work great.
