The bleach bath won't hurt you.
I found that nix lice treatment cream rinse works best for me, apply to effected area for 10 mins and rinse,this kills them but for the next 2-5days they are going to be itchy benadryl helps for that.
A goodpreventive, insect repelant with deet applied to all clothing inside and out including shoes before going to the woods.
