I see no harm in buying top of the line equipment, like a drenalin or hoyt vectrix, provided a solid PRO-shop outfitted you and will stand behind their products. What would the newbie be better off with, $800 worth of gear and the guidance of a knowledgable proshop, or save a couple hundred at a big box mart and find that the equipment and sales staff ain't worth a crap?
